Conicelli Autoplex donation helps support local students advance technological literacy

The Conicelli family and Conicelli Autoplex are proud to have helped sponsor the Technology Student Association (TSA), a group of students from Colonial Middle School and Plymouth Whitemarsh High School. The organization focuses on topics in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, the "STEM" subjects seen as fundamental to modern educational advancement. The organization participates in local, state, and national conferences in technology related areas.

The TSA group recently competed in the Region 5 competition held February 23, 2013 at Strayer Middle School in Quakertown; Colonial Middle School qualified 24 members and Plymouth Whitemarsh High School qualified 22 members for the state competition. They will be competing at the Pennsylvania State TSA competition to be held April 18-21, 2013 at Seven Springs Conference Center. All students who place at the state competition will have a chance to compete at the National competition in Orlando, Fla. from June 21-25, 2013.

Conicelli Autoplex sponsors boxing at Valley Forge Casino this weekend

Nationally-ranked middleweight boxer "Lightning" Harry Joe Yorgey will fight Julius “Relentless” Kennedy in an 8-round bout Friday night, March 15, in the co-headline event of a 7-bout boxing card at the Valley Forge Casino in King of Prussia, Pa.

Conicelli Autoplex is sponsoring this inaugural event at the Valley Forge Casino, and will also sponsor the next 6 events including another boxing event and 5 mixed martial arts events.

“I want to thank all my area fans that will be coming out to support me. And I want to thank Conicelli, my main sponsor,” said Yorgey.

Michael Hammond, vice president of sales and marketing at Conicelli Autoplex said, “This will be the first of seven events we’re sponsoring at the Valley Forge Casino. It started off with just sponsoring Harry’s fight and evolved into us sponsoring two boxing cards and five mixed martial arts events.

“The great thing is that Valley Forge Casino is doing the first fight with a local guy. But, it also shows that Conicelli is getting involved with sponsoring big events. We try to give back to the community a lot. For example, we are sponsors of the Norristown PAL.”

Tickets are $125 (VIP), $75 (ringside) and $45 (general admission) and can be purchased at the Valley Forge Casino Resort. For more information call 610-768-3288 or visit (http://www.vfboxing.eventbrite.com).
